What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

The Triune God

We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three persons are coequal and co- eternal.

Sanctification

We believe that once we are made new in Christ, we continue to grow into full spiritual maturity. God’s grace, and His Spirit in us, enables us to love God and others with a whole heart, live with victory over sin, and become fully human like God created us to be. This transformation takes place through a process and through key moments.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, established the Kingdom of God on earth, died on a cross for all people, atoning for our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day, returned to the Father, and will physically return again one day.

The Church

We believe that the Church was established by Christ and is strengthened by the Holy Spirit to carry out the Great Commission until Christ returns.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and dwells in people when they place their faith in Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, helps us grow in Christ, and empowers and emboldens us to live our lives for Christ.

Baptism

We believe that baptism is an outward sign of an inner transformation that has taken place through faith. It is a symbol of our new life and a confession of our new faith.

Scripture

Communion

We believe that the scriptures were written under the direction and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe that both the Old and New Testaments reveal to us the will of God and are without error in all that they affirm.
We believe that communion represents Christ’s death and resurrection. Through communion, Christians participate in the life offered by Christ.

Sin

Divine Healing

We believe that because of Adam and Eve’s sin, we are all born with a bent towards sin. Consequently, we have all sinned and are sinners. Sin is a willful violation of a law of God and is only forgiven through the sacrifice of Christ.
We believe that God can miraculously heal any sickness or ailment and that we should pray for people who need healing.

Atonement

Second Coming

We believe that because of Jesus’ death on the cross our sins are forgiven through confession of sin and faith in Christ. We are only saved by faith in Jesus, not through any works of our own.
We believe that Jesus will return to establish an eternal Kingdom and make right the brokenness of this world.

Grace

Resurrection

We believe that we are all given the choice between right and wrong and are morally responsible. The grace of God through Jesus Christ is freely given to all people enabling us to believe and to be saved from our sin.
We believe in a future judgment in which every person will be judged according to their deeds and that everlasting life will be granted to all who have faith in Christ.

Repentance

Marriage

We believe that repentance means a “change in direction.” When we repent, we turn from our way and follow after God’s way.
We believe that marriage was established by God, and that His will is for marriage to be an exclusive lifelong covenant between one man and one woman.

Justification and Regeneration

We believe that when we follow Christ in faith, God pardons us of all our sins, creates in us a new life that is sensitive to the Spirit, and enables us to follow Christ. This is the first step towards being a Jesus- shaped person.
